Life As Seen From The Saddle

A few weeks ago, I posted an Instagram picture with the caption “watching the scenery go by while pedaling a bike is a beautiful thing”.  It is an amazing view to experience the world at 15mph.

Each change in incline is felt.

A shift in the wind is noticed.

A flower on the side of the road catches our attention.

The smells of the world surround us.

Side tracks and new roads beg us to explore.

It all reminds me of a favorite John Lennon song –

I’m just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round,
I really love to watch them roll,
No longer riding on the merry-go-round,
I just had to let it go.

He’s not actually referring to bikes.  However, when I hear that song, I think of going for another bike ride to watch the world roll by at 15mph.

About Andy Amick
A little bit nutty in general, a lotta bit nutty about bikes. Each of his boys received a bike helmet for their first birthday and the three of them have been biking together ever since.
